Let us vote for the country, avoiding narrow goals.

We must reconsider that for past seventy-five years, whether we have or haven’t misused any of our votes to accomplish limited objectives, like getting kids into schools through informal means, getting jobs and promotions in the public service for people who do not meet the required qualifications, getting help to hide from the law by engaging in illegal activities, and getting tenders improperly.

We have spent our wealth for the victory of the politicians we have chosen for that, and have also given them the votes of our close ones. Therefore, WE, the Sri Lankan nation, must take responsibility for dragging our country into this political, economic, social and cultural tragedy.

Avoid using your valuable vote on massive scale of public meetings, motorcades, impractical fancy promises and contrived social media campaigns. Let's use our vote wisely for the sake of the country, regardless of which party we are in.

OUR PLAN

By changing the existing corrupted political culture, building to free the country from the unfortunate situation in which the country and its people are currently, by gathering all the existing progressive and honest forces as well as the general public into one front through an organized program, the economic, social, cultural and environmental aspects of our country Building a common force that can lead to progress.

Selecting candidates who are not involved in the current political culture and being intelligent, creative, practical, who are sincere for the public welfare by a wide panel of scholars to represent the upcoming elections.

Taking the lead in empowering representatives in order to put a full stop to keeping the power of the country in the hands of a single group as a generational inheritance, all the voters, including the officers, professionals and businessmen who are in favor of narrow party politics and who are only work for personal gain, are properly informed and motivated to give their votes to the most suitable candidates.

To fully depoliticize the public sector, to develop its efficiency, effectiveness, law-abidingness and fairness, and to reduce the possibility of inefficient and corrupt department heads and officials through proper regulation and evaluation.

In order to make the Sri Lankan society a developed and free country in all aspects, it is necessary to prepare permanent and comprehensive national policies covering various fields and to socialize them and make them a reality to get the contribution of all parties led by the youth efficiently and effectively.

OUR PRINCIPLES

01. We always act for the public benefit and do not do politics for personal gains of wealth, power and fame. We consider the public benefit to be working for the benefit of the entire economy, society and environment, including you and us.

02. All members who hold office in our party should not earn income in any illegal or anti-social manner and should not be involved in any separatism, religious or ethnic extremism or bribery or corruption. If so, our party will take decisions against such people according to the party constitution.

03. We stand for a new political culture and reject all corrupt public representatives in the current Parliament.

04. We recognize the need for all public representatives to be given high allowances and privileges commensurate with their service to prevent them from being prone to fraud and corruption in the selection of highly qualified and skilled persons.

05. We refuse to give nominations from the Liberal Democratic Party to any corrupt public representative.

06. We welcome any Sri Lankan citizen who is willing to change this failed system and agrees with our policies.

07. We respect the concept of pluralistic society to maintain the identities of all citizens in this country, consider all citizens as Sri Lankans and completely reject discrimination based on religion, race, caste and sex.

08. We commit to implement democratic principles and policies and we respect people's sovereignty, rule of law, state accountability and maintain transparency.

09. We strongly believe that the Judiciary and the public sector should be fully depoliticized, that the justice system should be streamlined, and that the law should apply equally to all, including public representatives.

10. We will work to remove words that prejudice the poor, disabled, people with special needs or groups, and we will make arrangements to accept them as equal citizens in the society.

11. We respect the right to agitate, demonstrate and protest and we will intervene directly to minimize the possibility of such activities.

We believe in free market economy and we believe in considering farmers, entrepreneurs, manufacturers and businessmen as the most important part of the economy who directly contribute to production and export as well as employment, the provision of public services such as education, health and transport should be under the full regulation and responsibility of the government.

We believe that there is a direct responsibility to the government to reduce production costs, increase efficiency, quality and productivity of producers including farmers and provide support to increase the scale of production, as well as implement the free market economic system for the common good and protect consumer rights.

16. Likewise, we agree to provide the necessary government support and encouragement to upheld domestic production and develop the export economy.

PROPOSED TASKS TO BE IMPLEMENTED PRIMARILY TO ACHIEVE OUR VISION AND OBJECTIVES

01. By gaining the trust of the Sri Lankan citizen and the international community, implementing a strategic plan to overcome the current acute economic crisis and not fall into the debt trap.

02. Giving priority to local agriculture and other industrial sectors and service provision sectors, to encourage the production and service sectors of the country by properly managing the import sector and providing facilities for the rapid upliftment of local entrepreneurs, farmers and businessmen.

 

03. Developing an information technology system in which the income of all citizens and businessmen can be recorded without any exclusion and increasing government revenue by collecting direct taxes on income.

04. Implementing a social protection program immediately to lift out the vulnerable and poor people

05. Promotion of all foreign exchange earning sectors.

06. Complete decentralization of the public sector, establish appropriate independent commissions to increase the efficiency of the public sector and reorganize loss-making state enterprises subject to formal regulation or remove them from government control.

The qualifications to be fulfilled by a candidate to be elected to the cabinet under a government of the Liberal Democratic Party, the list of all candidates recommended for the cabinet who have fulfilled the said qualifications and the proposed program to be presented to the people at the beginning of the election campaign.

08. Entering into a Memorandum of understanding at the time of nomination with the Member of parliament candidates from our party to prevent misuse of Member of parliament office by seeking favors and privileges.

09. Abolish the posts of Senior Minister, Minister of State and appoint two junior Members of Parliament as Assistant MPs for each Ministry without any additional privileges or allowances.

10. In appointing the staff of all public representatives, including ministers, to abolish the possibility of appointing relatives and to audit the assets of all public representatives as well as their families and staff and obtain annual asset liability statements.

11. Any informal and unjustly accumulated assets which cannot be disclosed by the public representatives and public officials are confiscated to the government, after a formal investigation

01. A free and independent foreign policy that protects the country's sovereignty and dignity.

02. A national policy for effective enforcement of laws, with provisions for easy updating and appropriate to time and context, equally applicable to both public representatives and citizens.

03. A simple and compatible efficient tax policy to expand public revenue needed for social justice and welfare to create the right environment to accelerate the economic development of the country

04. A comprehensive agricultural policy to achieve food security, protect and uplift and promote local agricultural sector.

05. A comprehensive national education policy covering the entire education system to produce a disciplined full citizen with knowledge, skill and competence, ensuring equal opportunities in education.

06. A comprehensive health and medical policy aimed at providing preventive, curative, nutritional needs covering the entire population.

07. A comprehensive domestic and foreign trade policy to help promoting all sectors of local industries, agriculture, business, import and export as well as foreign investment.

08. A dignified wage policy for all public representatives and public and private sector employees to live with dignity.

09. A National Civil Service Policy to enable recruitment and promotion of employees free from any political interference to create an efficient and effective public service free from bribery, corruption and bureaucracy.

10. A National Energy Policy to meet local energy needs and provide continuity of service, promoting the supply of renewable energy.

11. A National Transport Policy for a budget-friendly and comfortable public transport service.

12. A national housing and construction policy for the sustainable management of Sri Lanka's limited land resources in agriculture, forest reserves, reservoirs, construction and related sectors.

13. A national policy for waste management to ensure the preservation, growth and beauty of the ecosystem by minimizing water, air, soil and noise pollution to ensure the survival of all living species on earth including humans.

14. A labor policy that minimizes wage inequality and providing opportunities to develop professional skills.

15. A national trade policy that streamlines the process of providing food safety, medicines and health facilities and upholds consumer rights.

16. A national welfare policy covering all areas related to protection of vulnerable people, poverty eradication, social welfare and disaster management.

17. A national development policy for the promotion of technological practices and innovation as well as coordination between relevant agencies in the national development process based on priorities.

18. A national tourism policy to promote the tourism industry with a focus on foreign exchange earnings, local knowledge and technology transfer and taking Sri Lanka to the world.

19. A National Heritage Policy for the preservation and promotion of Sri Lankan culture, literature, art and heritage.

20. A National Social Security Policy for the rescue and rehabilitation of children, youth, and others from drug abuse and social media-induced adverse addictions, temptations, influences and inconveniences.

21. An independent media regulatory commission free from direct government intervention.
